NI-Scotland tunnel can link up New Silk Route
On January 18, with much fanfare, the United Kingdom joined the New Silk Route on the arrival in London of a freight container train from China.
This new development is an additional argument in itself for the UK to have that interconnecting tunnel under the North Channel between Scotland and Northern Ireland and thus be directly at the centre of two great trading routes, namely the New Silk Route via the Channel Tunnel and the transatlantic route via the ports of Northern Ireland, given their being at the very doorstep of the North Atlantic and the great circle route.
Belfast International Airports will also gain fast rail links to London and other UK cities via a North Channel tunnel, making it a UK strategic departure point.
