No amount of excuses can justify murder

I write in response to the letter 'Women must have the same abortion rights' from Paul Caughey (Write Back, March 1).

Contrary to Mr Caughey, the decision to have an abortion is about the easiest decision a person can make.

People make it complicated by throwing into the mix their own selfishness and desire to escape responsibility for their actions.

Doubtless, even a neanderthal knows that it is wrong to murder one's own child. The fact that this is lost on people today doesn't say much for a society which uses intellect merely to conjure up every foul excuse in the book to justify evil actions.

Murder is not a right.
