I HAVE just tried to apply for the new Tesco Bank current account. It takes about 10 minutes to apply and, when I completed the application, I was declined because "this account is not available in Northern Ireland".
This account allows Tesco customers to earn extra clubcard points on their spending.
So, I would like to know why Tesco is happy to sell us food, drink, clothes, electrics and petrol, but denies us the benefits it is providing to the rest of the UK.
As far as I know, we are still part of the UK and, as the account can be managed online, I do not understand why we are being discriminated against.
I wanted to email Tesco about this, but it does not seem to accept emails and wants me to phone it.
