Osborne fails to grasp lesson from the past

I read with interest a letter from Roger Dane, Tories Pull Rug Out From Under the Recovery, and I agree absolutely with his comments.

David C McCullough, A Pulitzer prizewinner wrote: History is a guide to navigation in perilous times.

In 1937 the United States tried to balance the books too soon after the Great Crash in 1929 and it ended up causing a full blown depression.

Maybe Cameron and Osborne didn't read History at Oxford University.

We, the ordinary folk don’t want to “Grasp the Nettle” but unfortunately it will be us that will end up feeling it.

We have no option, and, as is the norm, the poor, disabled, hard-working and single parents are the ones who will feel the nettle not the likes of Osborne or Cameron.

Hopefully Osborne will only get one bite at the cherry and his reign will be short.
