OTR furore sees MLAs gleefully reprise old roles

Published 07/03/2014

WHAT a relief the on-the-runs' crisis must be for our masters at Stormont. The mishandling of the John Downey affair has provided an opportunity for some politicians (DUP) to vent their spleen, for others (Sinn Fein) to be magisterial and yet others (TUV) to be scathing and dismissive.

What a treat it must be in the chamber to have this light entertainment, away from the A&E problems, the threat of financial fines by Westminster, plus many other serious issues. Coincidentally, the issue will play well in the coming elections.
