Oz jobless data is not accurate

I am on holiday from Australia and, as bad as things seem to be here, I do not want prospective migrants heading off to Australia in search of work: they could well be disappointed.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics’ employment records are obtained by phoning 1,000 households in every state each month.

If one person in the household has worked one hour in the last week, they are deemed to be employed. The Australian government continues to give out rubbery jobless figures of 5%. It’s rubbish. The honest figure is around 15%.
