Pastor James McConnell: The other side of ecumenism
WHEN I was a teacher, I took a class of pupils to the Islamic Centre. It was part of the RE curriculum to understand all faiths.
The cleric was quite disrespectful, almost rude, about Jesus.
I had thoughts about Mohammed, the Prophet, but I was responsible for getting the children home, so I kept mum. But some parents weren't so nice about it. Needless to say, the visit wasn't repeated in my time.
