Patient discomfort

We are responding to the Belfast Telegraph feature on April 15 ('When all I can really do is just to hold her hand' by Chris Nikkel).

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was told I would need chemotherapy. It was not pleasant but, due to the experience of the staff, discomfort was kept to a minimum.

Had I read this article before my treatment, I would have been terrified.

I hope you will publish another article giving a more positive slant in order to counter the fear that you have generated in patients about to undergo this vital treatment.
