People are still being forced out of homes
I read with interest Nelson McCausland's article on the subject of republican pogroms (Comment, June 1).
History has much to tell us about the suffering of man and he is correct that we must not let it be rewritten. It is important for the public to know the true extent to which, even today, people are intimidated out of their family homes.
Indeed, I wonder if he, or any other appraised of the figures, can tell us how many people in Northern Ireland have been forced out of their homes in each year since the Good Friday Agreement was signed. The numbers, while unpalatable, should be instructive.
Intolerance is not something we can be silent about. I hope the numbers don't show an increase in intolerance, but it may well be the case that they do.
