My commiserations would go out to Sammy Wilson in respect of an onslaught by a man-eating dinosaur (Write Back, September 10), except that I feel that he is more than able to deal with such nonsense.
The effect of man, with respect to ‘global warming', does not come from the brightest intellects in the world, but from a dubious scientific orthodoxy emanating from a range of countries which have a vested interest in perpetuating the myth.
Despite cooling for the past few years, it is quite possible that we will eventually have to cope with long term climate change by a policy of moving populations.
When the United States puts up the two required weather satellites in three years time, we will be better placed to derive a strategy.
Meanwhile, we can continue to increase our carbon footprint by recycling — sending stuff on exotic holidays rather than minimising our waste and landfilling locally.
Such a move would, unfortunately, leave a whole lot of people jobless.
