Please help find my dad

Monday, 17 November 2008

My name is Kerrie Ann Swift (19), born in Crewe, Cheshire, England.

Does anyone know the whereabouts of my father, Ronald Francis Eugene Swift (57), born in Downpatrick, Co Down.

The last I heard from him was when he lived in Basildon, Essex, England.

To my knowledge he moved back to Northern Ireland two years ago and since then no one has heard from him, including his mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's.

I have not seen him for nine years. I understand that he isn't in very good health and suffers from a heart condition, so I'm anxious to know how he is.

I would like to stay in contact with my dad, if I ever find him. If you can help me contact him, please get in touch. I miss him so much.

Kerrie Swift

Ferndale, Mainroad Wrinehill, Crewe, Staffordshire CW3 9BZ

Please can you help me find my dad? My name is Eleanor, I am 10 years old, from Great Britain. My dad left me about 2 months after I was born. I have never seen him in my life before so I dont know much about him. I dont know which street he lives in, which door number, as a matter of fact, I dont even know which country he lives in. I know that if my dad left me at such a young age then he really wasnt a responsible father, but he is my dad and at times I really do miss him.

If anyone could possibly help then I would appreciate it very much, I dont know where to look or go or anything. My mum says that after my dad left, she searched for him everywhere for months, then eventually gave up. I dont want to give up that easily. Thats why I would love it if as many people as possible could help me, just give me advice.

Thank you for all your help
Eleanor x

Brown can't even stick to his own nonsense on Afghanistan

Bit by bit, as happened with Iraq, the reasons for staying in Afghanistan slide into gibberish. So Gordon Brown's reasons for the war seem to change every week.

Cannabis: it’s time to stop the lies and start a rational debate

It doesn't require a Leap of faith to support the growing calls for a radical rethink of policy on drugs and in particular on the decriminalisation of cannabis.

We're stuck with the Assembly . . . and it's no laughing matter

A few evenings ago the Minister of Health at Stormont, Michael McGimpsey, was to be seen on the television news offering his audience what he termed a 'joke'.

Thierry Henry's confession leaves revolting taste

The Republic of Ireland is entitled to believe it has never seen anything so cynical, so far removed from the spirit of sport, as the devilish hand played by Thierry Henry to deny Giovanni Trapattoni's team a place in the World Cup finals that would have been so thoroughly deserved.

Wenger’s way a lesson to all of us

Arsenal are scoring goals galore at the moment. Not exactly what everyone was hoping for at Sunderland ahead of our Premier League game with them tomorrow.

I Iearned a tough lesson from my first digs at uni

My nephew Joe left home this week to go to university. It’s a huge step for a teenager but if anyone can carry it off with aplomb he certainly can.

GAA scored an own goal over SF demonstration

Just because it's Nelson McCausland, it doesn't mean he's wrong. The events surrounding that Hunger Strike anniversary rally at Galbally GAA grounds pose very disturbing questions for the organisation.

Cost of pay freezes and high taxes was a culture of duplicity, envy and hypocrisy

The Chancellor was right yesterday to dismiss the idea of a High Pay Commission. His phraseology was characteristically mild: he was "not persuaded" of his merits.
