Police must take kid gloves off

May I, as a retired RUC officer, respond to a recent article concerning to the recent ATM raid in Crossmaglen?

According to the report, this incident occurred just yards from the local station, which poses the question: is it manned?

If so, why was there no response? One of the primary objectives of policing is "the protection of life and property".

Until the PSNI operates a more robust attitude, these robberies will continue. It would appear that policing in border areas is non-existent, considering the ease with which these incidents are carried out. Get the kid gloves off and go for the jugular.
