Poots was told about dangers in care homes

MENS Aid (NI) challenged Health Minister Edwin Poots at a meeting in Stormont in March 2012 – 18 months ago. We highlighted, among other things, how vulnerable children in care were at greater risk of failures by social services and the evidence, via the Barnardos report released in 2011, backed this potential up. He ignored this, among other things.

Now 22 cases of exactly this are being investigated by the PSNI and 30 people have been arrested.

We warned Mr Poots. He's failed those 22 children – and who knows how many more.

Secretary, Mens Aid (NI)
