Pope protesters are out of touch

During his visit to the UK, Pope Benedict XVI highlighted the "aggressive atheism" which is increasingly prevalent in the UK.

This is a very valuable point, which I hope resonates with the people of the UK as Christian life and teaching is increasingly being treated with intolerance.

Organisations such as Protest the Pope claim they are protesting because the Pope's "harsh and intolerant" views are out of touch.

This organisation's spokesman, Peter Tatchell, supports lowering the age of consent to 14. This is out of step with the opinions of the majority of British people.

If the Pope's visit has achieved nothing else, then at least it has highlighted the increased exclusion of Christian thought.
