Pothole repairs not that costly
SO, there are 18,600 potholes on our roads and £4.5m has been set aside by DRD to compensate drivers whose vehicles are damaged as a result (News, November 3).
Well, according to the 2014 statistics for England and Wales, it costs £60 to repair a pothole, which suggests that we could have all of ours fixed for £1.12m instead of paying out four times as much in compensation.
Will the DRD minister please ensure that this work is commenced immediately? It's clearly a no-brainer.
Petition of concern not required.
