Privacy editorial ignored key fact

In your editorial 'Pressing privacy row rumbles on' (June 8), you totally ignore the fundamental fact that "once the privacy horse has bolted" then the "wrath of the law" comes too late to provide an adequate remedy.

What you are, in effect, saying is that the Press should act as their own judge and jury in deciding what should be published in pursuit of newspaper sales.

In the absence of injunctive relief, or an appropriate financial deterrent, the public at large (and not just the rich and famous) will have no protection.
