Public joy at this time is infantile

Published 10/04/2013 | 04:20

It is a rather sad indictment on our society when people organise street parties to 'celebrate' the death of Lady Thatcher.

Everyone has a right to express – maturely and respectfully – their disagreement with the political ideology and policies of the former prime minister.

However, it is pathetic, ignorant and infantile to participate in a public show of joy at a time of death and mourning among family, friends and the wider community.
