Put the heat on home fuel costs

I read with delight the article by Claire McNeilly that the ‘price of home heating oil is to be cut in half’ (Belfast Telegraph, October 17).
I ordered oil recently and heard on the news that the price of a barrel of oil is now at its lowest since February 2007.
My records show that I paid £277.10 for 900 litres on March 10, 2007. My quote from the same company for 900 litres this month was £375.45, up by £98.35.
From a graph supplied by another local oil company I saw that the price per litre was 32p in February 2007 .— making 900 litres £288. It took Belfast Telegraph headlines and articles to get the price of petrol reduced. How about taking on heating oil prices? With luck we might hit Claire's prediction of £240 by Christmas.
