Railway revamp is on right track

A RECENT letter (Write Back, May 21), signed 'Commuter', claimed that it was a flawed idea for Translink to renovate and reuse the railway terminus at the Waterside in Londonderry.

Commuter stated that: "The majority of users want a new station to be built adjacent to the Peace Bridge." Commuter must have carried out some large-scale polling to know the opinions of all the current and potential users of the Waterside Station.

What we do know is that the Ulster Architectural Heritage Society, Foyle Civic Trust, Derry City Council and Into The West rail lobby have given it their support.
