Published 28/01/2011

This weekend there will be an important festival of Romanian film at the Queen's Film Theatre in Belfast. Romania has a strong tradition of cinema and Romanian films have won numerous international awards.

Starting this afternoon with the remarkable film The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu - a documentary portrait based on archive footage - the festival consists of six films and a talk by a film director, running through until Sunday evening.

The festival is being run by QFT in conjunction with the Romanian Cultural Institute in London. This is an opportunity to view outstanding Romanian cinema.

A full programme can be found on the QFT website.
