Save historic building from wrecker's ball
I AM writing to express my concern and objection to the decision to demolish the Orpheus Building on York Street in Belfast.
I find it quite unbelievable that a building as important as the old Cooperative Society building is to be knocked down.
I note the conservation officer recommends this should not be knocked down. I quote their points, which are more than valid:
"The building is a prominent Blitz survivor and represents the last building of historical/pre-war date in the long stretch of York Street."
