SDLP only seems sensitive over unionist matters
SDLP Department of the Environment Minister Mark H Durkan has decided that drivers in Northern Ireland won't have the Union flag on new driving licences, unlike citizens in other parts of the UK, due to what he describes as the "sensitivities" involved (News, Jan 5).
This is the same SDLP that wasn't so concerned about sensitivities when it voted with Sinn Fein and Alliance to remove the Union flag from City Hall and the Ulster Hall in Belfast; the same SDLP that campaigned for dissident terrorists to be released from prison and the same SDLP that assisted SF in naming a children's play park in Newry after a convicted IRA terrorist.
These so called moderates are only interested in sensitivities when it suits their increasingly anti-unionist agenda.
Surely it should be left for the individual applying for the licence to choose, not for a Government minister, with his political prejudice, to dictate!
