Searching issues

For the past few years i have been researching the golden era of irish showbands and beat groups, from 1958 to 1975.

During that time, I have written a 60-part series for Ireland's Own magazine, as well as numerous articles on this topic in various publications.

I also run the website www.irishshowbands.com, which is a 'work in progress'.

I am writing to ask readers if they might be able to help with information on some of the lesser-known showbands and beat groups from that time. The details I need are:

1, name of band/group; 2, names of members; 3, instruments played; 4, town/city where they were based; 5, changes in line-up; 6, year formed, year disbanded (or changed name); 7, records released (include B-sides and name of label); and 8, any significant fact about the band/group.

If anyone reading this can fill in all, or some of the blanks, I would be grateful if they would kindly let me know. They can email me at showbands@eircom.net or, alternatively, they can write to me at the address below.
