Seek evidence of achievement before voting in European and council elections
WITH the combined European and council elections looming on the horizon next month, we will all have to make the arduous journey to the polling stations once again.
Election flyers resembling a veritable rogues' gallery of candidates will be delivered through our letterboxes attempting to influence our voting preferences.
Two occupations which appear to me to be completely superfluous are councillors and MEPs.
Have they improved the lives of local residents? Or obtained EU funding to create jobs, or improve the local environment? No.
When you visit the polling stations next month, ask the sundry candidates for evidence of their achievements to date and try not to vote for the same bunch of tribal candidates.
