Sex abuse taints previous pontiff
I FIND it incredible that Pope Benedict XVI will beatify his predecessor, John Paul II, on May 1 in the fastest beatification process on record. This, in spite of so much controversy surrounding John Paul II in the area of clerical sex abuse.
His negligence in protecting young seminarians should have been a major impediment to his beatification process.
Pope Benedict and his curia have once more put the interests of the institutional Church over the victims and survivors of worldwide clerical sex abuse.
