Shooting is unacceptable

Published 08/12/2006

The shooting community try to portray themselves as conservationists and caretakers of the countryside, but they fail to notice that they are responsible for the massive amount of slaughter inflicted on wildlife each year.

Those who consider the life of any creature as worthless are in danger of arriving at the idea of worthless human lives.

The link between human and animal abuse is now well documented. The humane movement's long held position, that society's treatment of animals is inseparable from its treatment of human beings, is now being acknowledged.

Civilised society must not only condemn animal abuse, but must root it out and punish it. It is simply unacceptable.
