Frank Kealey of Value Oils states that customers get regular savings of approximately £15 when ordering from his company compared with other oil distributors or suppliers (Write Back, September 30).
However, even given that 95% of his business is web based, at today’s prices for 500 or even 900 litres, there were indeed other companies at a much cheaper price. Even if these other distributors charge a fee for payment by credit card, even if they charge a few pounds more for delivery in Belfast as compared with, say Fermanagh, they are still cheaper than Value Oils.
I would urge people who do have access to the internet to check out www.cheapestoil.co.uk when they want to know the price of oil before ordering and for those who do not have access to the internet they should always phone around for the best deal.
With oil prices fluctuating so much, the old adage of customer loyalty is no more.
Some oil companies offer payment plans so people can spread the cost and those finding it difficult to manage a budget should ask their distributors if this is available.
