Sick till operators must use tissues

IT is little wonder that cold and flu germs spread at this time of year.

How many readers have had the misfortune to pick check-out operators with colds? As they scan your items, they stop to cough and sneeze into their hands – not a tissue or wipe in sight.

Why do shop and supermarket managements continue to permit such poor hygiene practices?

Health promotion agencies also have a duty to do more.

Is it not time to bring back the ad campaign: Coughs and Sneezes Spread Diseases?
