Small prescription charge is way ahead

Published 27/04/2016

Our health service has many problems but Alliance is the only party brave enough to step forward with workable solutions to break the current logjam.

One of the biggest issues is the overwhelming pressure being exerted on our GPs, with more and more focus being placed on primary care. While others want to simply train more GPs, Alliance knows that is only a partial fix.

We have many suggestions to help improve the standard of care, one of which is a modest prescription charge for those able to pay.

With protections put in place for the young, the old, the most vulnerable and those with long-term conditions, it means very few would actually pay, but our health service as a whole would reap the benefits.
