So, who asks Queen Elizabeth to visit Republic of Ireland?

So, the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, has invited the Queen of England to Ireland on behalf of the Irish people. Did she ask us or put it to the vote of the people?

Our patriots of the centuries will be turning in their graves - not to mention their relatives and people like me of similar politics.
