Solution does not lie in hung Parliament

It is totally dishonest of the DUP to suggest, as Jeffrey Donaldson did on the BBC's Politics Show, that our current financial crisis can be resolved without any pain.

True to form, the DUP put party before country, desiring a hung Parliament rather than one that can sort out the mess we are in.

Yes, there is room for efficiency savings, but if there are no cuts then we will be faced with spiralling interest rates which will introduce a trail of devastation.

Mortgages will soar, homes will be repossessed, businesses will collapse, dole queues will lengthen, tax revenues will fall and the ability to pay off our debt will be damaged.

The pound will dive on international markets putting up the rate of inflation which will, in turn, necessitate more hikes in the interest rate.

The recovery of the private sector, on which the wealth of the nation depends, will be put in reverse.

That is the other side of this lunatic policy that the DUP does not want us to know.

A vote for the DUP's scaremongering will assist the outcome of a hung Parliament with all its uncertainty and damage to our economic future.

A vote for the Conservatives and Unionists will help to get rid of Gordon Brown and install a party in government which will be able to get us out of this enormous debt mountain.
