Last Sunday, as a member of the Northern Ireland Phoenix Group, I attended the National Day of Commemoration in Dublin as guests of the Irish government.
As members of the ex-service community, we were encouraged to wear our former headdress and medals. We were made welcome by all.
This is in contrast to how we are treated at home, specifically in relation to foot-dragging by the Assembly on the implementation of the Military Covenant.
We clearly have lessons to learn from our neighbours in the south.
