State to blame for health crisis

SO, another 'crisis' in the health service and, no doubt, there will be another 'review', another 'inquiry' and another 'report'.

I always listen with care to how the BBC 'challenges' the health service. It is incapable of challenging the core nature of the health service, namely that it is a nationalised monopoly.

The problem is not money, or management: it is the state monopoly of healthcare.

The time has long passed for us to abandon the idea that medical treatment can be free at the point of need.
