Stormont must join PM and lower our rates

While David Cameron has taken every opportunity to boast to the public about his tough stance in freezing the council tax in Britain, there has been a deafening silence from Stormont and councils in Northern Ireland.

I applaud the Fair Rates Campaign here for demanding that the same principle is applied to the rates here as in the rest of the UK.

We live in an environment of lower wages, higher utility costs and greater unemployment; the last thing we need now is a rate rise imposed by an administration with its head firmly buried in the sand.
