Stormont must reduce numbers
I agree with your Editor's Viewpoint (September 20) in calling for a reduction in the number of Stormont departments and MLAs. We have an over-inflated government and do not bring enough added value through delivery of services. Putting the population first should be more than an election manifesto, it should be reality.
Stormont reduced the number of councillors, with which I agree, but it must now show the same enthusiasm to making changes to regional government. Any re-organising, however, must not be a ploy to penalise ourselves for not delivering on welfare reform.
