Sweden shows recycle target is within reach
To recycle or not to recycle? That is what I want to ask the Environment Minister following his announcement in the summer regarding his plans to introduce a statutory 60% recycling target for local authority-collected waste.
Society wants to recycle, but is enough being done at a higher level to facilitate this?
There may be sceptics, concerned that a 60% target is unattainable without serious sacrifice, but they would do well to look to Sweden, where, on average, they recycle 96% of their rubbish.
Are we up to the challenge?
