Thanks for fundraising

Published 27/05/2010

I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff and customers of Tesco who, over the past 12 months, have raised a staggering £5.6m for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign as their Charity of the Year.

I have been president of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign for the past five years, so I have seen how difficult life can be for the thousands of children in the UK living with muscle-wasting disease.

More than £310,000 was raised in Northern Ireland and every penny will be spent in the province to help youngsters lead happier, more independent lives.

To everyone who has taken part, whether as a fundraiser, collector or a donator, thank you.
