The Big Bang theory is just a lot of hot air

On the subject of the 'Big Bang', the "enterprising engineers" referred to in your report (News, April 19) seem not to know the Law of Inertia, by which matter can change from rest, or uniform motion, in a straight line only if acted upon by an external force.

So the alleged 'Big Bang' would have resulted in a hollow sphere with a thin extending crust, whereas everyone is aware of celestial globes throughout space, but not of any other force.

In a recent Belfast Telegraph booklet, Sir Patrick Moore wrote that all the stars are moving away from each other, whereas later in the article it is stated that The Milkyway and our nearest galaxy are moving towards each other.

All told, the so-called 'Big Bang' is nonsense.
