The correct use of grammar

Regarding a grammatical error in your paper. In an article on Lord Molyneaux, you write: "Jeffrey Donaldson MP, a friend of the peer, said he never seen them together."

I teach children the difference between past tense and past participle, so I am disgruntled to find you can't use these conventions correctly.
