The wonderful sound of silence

I wonder if I am the only person living in Co Down who has been relieved for the last three days from the disturbance caused by low-flying jet airliners on final approach to our two main airports?

I don't underestimate the potential health and environmental effects of ash fallout, and hopefully the cloud will end its days somewhere over the Atlantic and deposit its burden far way from land.

In the meantime, I can look forward to another day or two of peace and quiet and will live in hope that more folks realise when this is all over that the Irish sea ferry companies can offer a viable alternative to Mr O'Leary and friends when travelling to the mainland.
