There will be no progress with Gerry Adams at helm
IF there is ever going to be an acceptable face of republicanism to unionists, it is fair to say that Gerry Adams does not have the luck of the Irish in representing it.
While loyalty is, indeed, a fine thing, blind loyalty is something else entirely. While Captain Gerry is at the helm of the republican ship, the chances of any real political progress are surely not in view.
So, in view of Mr Adams' latest revelations about his undoubted gymnastic skill and talents, could not he now pass over the controls of his flock to someone less toxic to many in the unionist community and himself perhaps take up a new career as presenter of the popular television show One Man and His Dog?
