Time to embrace Euro federalism

Published 13/04/2015

Nationalism is the curse of Ireland. Modern nationalism is a conflict between British nationalism and the nationalism of Irish republicanism driving the states of England and Ireland apart. Present-day Europe now promotes a togetherness of friendly states in co-operation, best described as federalism. If the sectarianism of these two old nationalisms is to be resolved, then there should be a coming together of the nation states of England, the federal kingdom of all Ireland, Scotland and Wales in a confederal kingdom of the Isles of the North Atlantic.
