Time to end this bitter Assembly
I IMPLORE Peter Robinson to bring down this Mickey Mouse charade of an Assembly immediately as it is completely dysfunctional (News, September 9).
We expected the elected parties to work for the population's benefit, but what we have is the two biggest parties at loggerheads.
Education Minister John O'Dowd said Sinn Fein would not be taking lectures from Iain Duncan Smith about welfare reform. Well, Mr O'Dowd should listen to the likes of Mr Smith, as he is an educated and professional politician and what he said made sense.
If Stormont was to close down, we could have direct rule for a few years and then have a proper government with an opposition.
