Time to privatise our agricultural industry

Published 07/07/2016

If Brexit goes ahead there is an opportunity for the farming community to control their own budget. The answer is privatisation of agriculture, meaning no Government grants.

It works in New Zealand.

Instead of taxpayers giving Government extra tax to pay for agricultural grants, farmers price their goods to cover the cost of production and the taxpayer has a reduced tax bill, because there are no agriculture grants being made.

The taxpayer can decide on how to spent the cash on agriculture goods, cutting out the middleman.

Let's make our exit from the EU a revolutionary one. We will have only the one chance for a new start. Make it the right one. Privatise agriculture.
