Titanic dilemma for Kevin Myers
Regarding Kevin Myers's views on global warming (Comment, March 29), if, on board the Titanic, there had been a group of naval architects, geographers and maritime officers who had produced a report to the captain advising that the vessel was entering the Atlantic ice-fields, that a collision with an iceberg could be fatal and recommending a reduction in speed, would there also have been a Kevin Myers figure that would have jumped up shouting "No.
No. Nonsense. These people don't know what they are talking about. Full steam ahead"?
