Tories fail test over EU costs
Last week the deadline passed for David Cameron to support MEPs in a bid to reduce the number of sessions of the European Parliament held in Strasbourg.
In spite of the ludicrous situation, whereby the entire parliament moves 220 miles for four days, 12 times a year, at an extortionate cost of £150m to the public purse, Mr Cameron failed to back MEPs.
Sadly, this occasion is yet another example of the Conservatives' failure to pay anything more than lip-service to EU reform and defending the interests of UK taxpayers within the EU.
