Tough at top? Try the bottom

I REFER to an article (News, December 6) which states that £26,000 was paid to top health trust staff and that these payments were deemed irregular.

I am sure that, if it had been a young office junior paid a few hours overtime in error, they would have had to pay it back.

But whether it is the public sector, or the private sector, management always gets away with serious mistakes, while workers at the bottom end up paying for them through pay cuts, pension cuts or redundancies.
