TV licence fee dodgers beware
Friday, 3 February 2012
The TV licence is a legal requirement and anyone found watching TV illegally does risk prosecution.
While extenuating circumstances are always taken into account, unfortunately this is not the first time Ms Parkinson has been caught and prosecuted for evasion of the TV licence fee.
Ms Parkinson pleaded guilty at Laganside Magistrate's Court on February 1 and was fined accordingly.
Her difficult personal circumstances will have been considered.
On behalf of the majority who do pay, TV Licensing has a duty to enforce the law. We do everything we can to ensure that people are aware of their legal obligations and are given every opportunity to pay.
