Lisa Markwell's article on typing (Review, March 23) took me back to the 1960s, when I was 13 and learning to touch type at school.
We had a lovely teacher who tried to make it more interesting by playing music to type along to.
We also learnt shorthand, so by the time we left school we were all ready for work, maybe not the most exciting work, but I am sure many young unemployed people today would swap places with us.
