Unfair criticism of parades an insult to many

ONCE again, we have Robin Wilson (Comment, April 5) criticising parades and calling them absurdities, putting pressure on police budgets with less money for schools and hospitals.

That is an insult to the countless thousands of people who love and support these parades and see them as their culture.

Also to the marchers who annually put thousands of pounds into charities and the local economy.

Why does he not write about the absurdities of decades of clerical child abuse, bankers and businessmen who wrecked the economy, politicians lining their pockets while the rest of us pay ?

Now they could build a few hospitals. Get off your high horse, pal, and look at the real world.
